The world of dentistry is constantly changing for the better, and Prestonwood Park Dental Care is proud to keep up with those important advancements here in Plano. Dr. Woodard has outfitted his office with several high-tech tools that help him provide even more precise and comfortable care to patients in need, from the first consultation all the way to the finished improvements. We always do our best to go above and beyond for you and your smile! Contact us today to schedule your first visit, or if you have any questions.
If you’ve ever wanted to take a closer look at the inside of your own mouth, you’re in luck – our state-of-the-art intraoral camera can accomplish just that! Dr. Woodard inserts the camera-tipped wand into the patient’s mouth, and right away, high-quality images are transported to a convenient monitor in the operatory. This clear visual aid helps us better explain areas of decay or other problems your smile is facing, the effects of certain treatments, and even how to brush and floss more effectively.
In the past, X-rays were developed on traditional film, developed slowly in a darkroom, and stored in bulky filing cabinets. Today, we’re proud to have greatly improved this essential process by investing in digital radiography from the industry leader Schick instead. Now, high-resolution X-rays of our patients’ smiles can be captured, sent to our computer system, and displayed for easy viewing within seconds! They can even be magnified and color-coded as needed to help our patients better understand what they’re seeing. You don’t have to worry about dangerous radiation, either – with digital X-rays, radiation exposure is reduced by up to 80% when compared to traditional radiography.
If you’re worried about the pain you might experience when you come into Prestonwood Park Dental Care for treatment, it’s time to relax. Dr. Woodard utilizes the Wand to inject painkiller into the gums in a safe and comfortable fashion so that patients can remain at ease. The small, pen-like handpiece hides a very fine needle inside, and your outer tissue will be successfully numbed before it ever makes contact. Better yet, we’re able to use the Wand to make more precise injections, helping you avoid unnecessary numbness that lingers on after your visit.
Lasers are a much-needed modern improvement to the world of dentistry, allowing Dr. Woodard to treat infected gum tissue and teeth with a precise, pain-free, and rejuvenating touch that’s much easier for patients to recover from as well. Plus, we’re able to assess the health of your gums and your pocket depth with a state-of-the-art computerized system for fast, accurate results! Our goal is to make dental care as comfortable and convenient as possible for our valued patients here in Plano, TX.
